Hmm.  Perhaps I'm not invoking it correctly?  I'm doing:

    python ftests/test_transaction.py
    
(with an appropriate PYTHONPATH set, of course).

The reference to the file seems to come from BrowserTestCase inside Zope,
which would be why your grep didn't find anything.
