Do you have an understanding of what is required in *Five* for them to be  
a reality?

 From what I could tell reading the viewlet documentation, viewlets don't  
require that much magic, though they need a special provider: type in TAL,  
which should be backportable to Zope 2, and may just work in Zope 2.10.

I'm not familiar enough with the low-level details of Five and the TAL  
engine to know what would be needed, but if you have an impression, it may  
be useful in getting something going.
