Both tools are a kind of registry where mimeutils is a list of mimetypes
including common file extensions, human readable names and file magics
and mimetransform is a registry of transformations (native python,
external commands, maybe xml-rpc/soap/win32) that are used for
transforming data from one mime type to another (like using pdf2html for
pdf -> text/html).

(*) MTR provides functionality like getting the mimetype of data by file
name extension or file magic, listing mime types, getting the human
readable name for a mime type ...
