> You have a chalet in the Swiss Alps, correct?
Err - my Dad has a 2-bedroom apartment in the French
Alsp (Argentiere, valley of Chamonix). He stopped inviting
me when our two little terrors were born, and I only get
one possible week I can go myself (kids half term in february,
don't know the dates just now. It's 50/50 whether we
get to leave the kids and ski a lot, or take them and
ski very very little. Anyone want to prove 4 and
6 year olds can learn Python in a week :-)
I can certainly give plenty of pointers on places to stay
in that town, which is the best possible location - one hour
from Geneva and good road and train access.
It is only 8km to the Swiss border, or you can climb
if brave. I have zillions of friends and relatives in
the town so if you wanted to coordinate a week I can
help with the logistics, but cannot myself guarantee
to appear or offer free accomodation. They have
a range of budget hotels and also Gite accomodation
for less than 20 Euros per night.
BTW my brother is a wannabe "TV adventure Chef" and hardened
mountaineer, and he organised an "extreme dinner" one night
in a mountain hut where Switzerland, France and Italy meet.
To my knowledge, no one has ever done an "extreme sprint" of
this kind, but most huts have power for laptops, so that's
a possibility. Do I recall that Jacob is a ski mountaineer?
