[lxml-dev] tests crash on libxml2 2.6.19 - drop support?

I also wonder whether any MacOS users are actually successfully using 
these versions of libxml2 on their platform. I have the impression a lot 
of Mac OS users install their own libxml2 versions to work around issues 
they have with the OS supplied ones.

If this is the general pattern, we'd not have a lot of problems dropping 
support for these as they don't work anyway.
