which one shouldn't take on unless we know we want to participate.<br>

The number of possible mentors play a strong role here.<br>

Myself I was hoping to wait a month and see before I decide on whether I<br>
want to mentor. I hope (though nothing is decided!) to be able to mentor a<br>
student for a year-long university project on Cython here in Oslo, and<br>
mentoring for a full year of work will definitely have higher priority for<br>
me than two months (as the investment overhead in getting somebody to know<br>
coding in Cython is likely comparable in the two cases). That taken in<br>
consideration I now have second thoughts on mentoring in GSoC; the same<br>
amount of mentorship in autumn can potentially pay off more in amount of<br>
code written.<br>
