[Cython] Thoughts on numerical computing/NumPy support

Dag, you are absolutely right, since Pex only does shallow type analysis, and
has no access to Cython's internal state during compilation, there is a rather
hard stop on what it is able to do. As William said, we wanted to get something
up quickly and did not want to muck around Cython internals. I too think this
sort functionality clearly belongs in the language proper, as you are describing.
